Dear DFA employees,

As many of you may be aware, COVID-19 transmission rates have moved Orange County in the “high community level” under CDC ratings. This has triggered the reinstatement of indoor masking on UCI’s campus as well as a heightened sensitivity to potential exposures. As a result, I have made the difficult decision to postpone our team building picnic scheduled for July 28.

I was looking forward to seeing all of you and celebrate our team’s accomplishments. However, in an abundance of caution and to help mitigate situations where COVID-19 transmissions are at a higher risk, I believe it is best to postpone our picnic to a time where COVID-19 transmission is in the “low community level” for Orange County.

We will continue to monitor transmission rates and OC Health Care Agency’s (OCHCA) recommendations on masking and social gatherings to determine a new date for our team building picnic.
